Ready, steady, walk. If you’re anything like me, you’re a sucker for getting your 10,000 steps in. Hot girl walks are landing on your FYP again and you’ve got a Stanley Cup Dupe in hand ready to walk away your worries.
Or at least you were, until it rained. And now it’s back to sad girl Saturday’s on the couch.
In the UK we get just 64 dry days per year. PER YEAR. I’m all for a drizzly walk now and again, but sometimes, we just need an alternative. Enter, the under desk walking treadmill. Having scoured the internet for a walking treadmill I could stick on Klarna, I landed on the Home Fitness Code Walking Treadmill.
After 30 days of blood, sweat and The Greatest Showman on repeat, let’s take a look at how it racked up.
TECH SPEC:
- With the remote control, the treadmill allows you to adjust the speed from 1-10 km/h to manipulate workout intensity.
- LCD screen that displays running time, distance travelled, calories burned during your workout.
- The treadmill measures at 122 cm x 49 cm x 14 cm and weighs 22kg.
- Max weight capacity is up to 110 kg.
Home Fitness Code Walking Treadmill: Is It Any Good?
If you’re looking for a sign to buy the Home Fitness Code walking treadmill, this is it.
Don’t waste 12 minutes reading the rest of my review — it’s honestly a steal. Over 30 days, I’ve consistently managed to rack up 20,000 steps per day, with relative ease.
It’s a sight for sore eyes but easy enough to tuck away, and ultimately a life saver if you’re struggling to hit your step count or feeling sluggish while working from home.
The Good
The Home Fitness Code walking pad does what it says on the tin. It’s not fancy, it doesn’t look particularly stylish but it lets you get your steps in from the comfort of your living room. What more could you want?
The Home Fitness Code treadmill is cheap, in the grand scheme of things. For under £200, I’ll take it, and even better that they allow you to use Klarna/Afterpay. The business is also based in the UK, so shipping times and customer service reflect that.
The best part? The treadmill works. After a month of hammering the product, it’s still in good shape and hasn’t yet need oiled. For what I paid, I’m pretty impressed.
The Bad
Like many, I ordered the Home Fitness Code treadmill because they allowed you to split the payment. Because of this, I overlooked the ~dodgy~ Trustpilot reviews. When you read into them further, you’ll see that they mostly relate to delivery, and unfortunately I wasn’t exempt from this. I placed my treadmill on a Saturday before a bank holiday — we didn’t ship until Wednesday, and I then experienced 3 missed deliveries before I finally had my order in my hands.
It’s no Amazon Prime, but I also ordered over a bank holiday and live in Scotland, so you win some you lose some. No-one speaks of their order not arriving at all, so just take the estimated delivery times with a pinch of salt.
Contrary to what you might see on TikTok, you aren’t going to be able to jump on work calls. A walking treadmill is quiet, but it’s not silent, so don’t expect to be able to join the weekly team meeting whilst stomping away. Sit down for your meetings and enjoy the break.
Overuse will lead to the motor burning out anyone, so it’s not a bad thing.
Speaking of burn, this machine is good IF you have it on a wooden floor, but it will burn straight through carpet over time. If lack of space is the reason you want one, it’s ideal, but there is VERY LITTLE distance from being on the actual floor, hence the reason why it will burn carpets with the heat from it.
Another thing to note is the max weight capacity, I’m 5’3 and around 60kg so this wasn’t something I had even thought of, but if you’re over 100kg, this particular treadmill will be a no-go. My partner was excited to give it a go when I first bought it, but found that the belt slowed to a snail pace the minute he tried to walk on it (He weighs 101kg for reference).
The Verdict?
Sold. For less than £200 (£63.70 per month with Afterpay) you’ve got a really easy way to rack up steps from the comfort of your own home.
It’s not a replacement for getting outside and getting some fresh air, but that’s not always possible and this offers a great alternative. Light enough to manoeuvre and provided you have somewhere to store it can tuck away pretty easily.
It won’t come the next day, but allow up to a week and you’re absolutely fine.
FAQ: The Burning Questions
Are there Home Fitness Code discount codes?
Home Fitnes sCode doesn’t often do discount codes, and when they do they are pretty small. Instead, use TopCashback to claim 12% back on your purchase.
How heavy is the Home Fitness Code treadmill?
The treadmill weighs 22kg, but comes with wheels so is easy to manoeuvre without putting your back out. It’s not quite as compact as you would expect, so ensure you’ve got enough space to be able to roll it back and forth into place.
Does it fit under the couch?
This depends on the size of your couch. The treadmill belt itself is low to the ground and would fit under a standard size couch, but the LED screen is significantly raised. You would find it difficult to fit the head of the treadmill underneath a couch comfortably, so it may just have to stick out on one end.
How many steps can you do on a HomeFitnessCode treadmill?
It depends on how long you can walk for. If you’re walking at 4km per hour — the lowest walkable pace — you’ll do 4565 steps in 60 minutes. If you can walk for half of your working day, that’s around 16,000 steps per day.
